We visited this municipal market on the outskirts of Rio, for the Flower and Plants section, which Rio's municipal market was great!
Full of great stores to buy high-quality food, and wonderful It is a huge Supply Center with hundreds of warehouses that sell everything In rio everything is big fair prices, from Codfish to Olive Oil and Wines and Artisanal Beers, flowers, gastronomic gear But I think that the great catch is that there are excellent restaurants, which owners were smart enough to understand that they would have the supplies and a low rent and the public, all on one place.
Amazing visit for a weekend. You will completely full, of food, of bags, of smiles. CADEG is known by the fruit, vegetable, flowers and plants distribution It's interesting by the variety and quantity of restaurants, most of then Portuguese food and their specialty It was Saturday close to noon, and took me over an hour to get into the parking lot.
It's not a place for kids due a crowded ambiance. This is a must in Rio, as In rio everything is big as you're used to masses and messes. The vibrant place is perfect for experiencing the chaotic ways that makes Rio so charming. Beware if you're not used to this. The food was great and we went while they had a Portuguese festival, which made everything more special.
I would recommend trying the Portuguese cuisine while drinking a Portuguese wine. The shopping is not the greatest in Rio, nor are the flowers, quite frankly.
If you're going there you should just be expecting to have great typical food with awe inspiring music, and sometimes dancing. In fact the address shown there's no conection with the picture.
From the old Market built in the central area of Rio on the picture and demolished in the 50'sjust remain one old tower where is located a nice restaurant actually. The new Market of the city is located a little bit far from downtown.
But not too dificult to get there. When you read about the place and see the pictures, it seems like this would be a wonderful adventure. Wade through endless troves of cut flowers and sample a local fair.
