Working in an engaging, creative, and collaborative environment, campers craft and star in their own play.
Students focus on the craft of acting through physical and vocal warm-ups, improvisation, acting technique, and scene study. Working closely with industry professionals, campers perform scenes from contemporary plays, some of which have been developed through the Premiere Play Festival. Fundamentals of acting and theatre through character creation, improvisation, and ensemble building. Wednesday drop off 8: Pickup is on Friday July, 27th at 1 pm. Prepares high school and college students for successful careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management. Upon entering the program students are divided into small research teams that are paired with faculty mentors conducting authentic scientific research in the following six areas: Students learn how to conduct basic and applied research during this program and develop a true appreciation of the scientific research process while contributing first hand to the College teens have trio together of new scientific knowledge.
Students engage in weekly meetings with faculty and team members to solve problems and discuss results, novel ideas and the latest scientific literature.

Teens learn from Kean University design faculty and other professionals to develop original design solutions to real-world projects.
Thinking Creatively Design Camp, participants will work with Kean design faculty, students, and visiting professional designers and art directors in a fun, creative, and collaborative environment to develop original design solutions to real-world assignments and to expand creative thinking. Campers will learn the foundations of creative design through innovative, active exercises and projects.
They will also get a chance to see their work displayed in an exhibition and virtually on the Thinking Creatively Design Camp social networking page. Kean University's College of Natural Applied and Health Sciences offers an intensive Saturday and summer six week residential program for students beginning in the 9th grade. The goal of Upward Bound is to increase the rate at which participants complete high school, enroll and graduate from college in four years.
The purpose of the program is to provide the skills and motivation necessary to enroll and graduate from college in a 4 year time frame, upon high school graduation. Program activities will be held on the Kean University campus located in Union, NJ and the target high schools. The academic component is held during the months of September-May.
The summer residential component will be held during the months of June -August. The academic year and Saturday classes will include courses in math, science, science labs, foreign language, literature, corporate mentoring, and STEM College teens have trio together with university faculty, tutoring, test preparation and financial literacy.
Assistance with the college application process including college and SAT fee waivers are available for eligible participants. Classes are taught by Kean University administration, faculty, professional staff, and professionals from the public and corporate sector.
Students participate in the program until they graduate from high school.

Applications are with the target high school guidance counselors or you may contact the program office to request an Upward Bound application. Completed applications will be reviewed by the Upward Bound Admissions Committee. Applicants that are recommended by the Upward Bound Admissions Committee will be contacted for a personal interview with their parent s or legal guardian.
The applicant will be notified in writing of their admission status three weeks after the interview.
